Problem statement

The problems are distractions while driving, accuracy issues with traditional GPS systems, and heightened stress levels during commutes. The severity is underscored by the potential safety risks associated with distractions and stress, as well as the impact on the overall driving experience. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration defines distracted driving as any activity that could divert attention from the primary task of driving. They also completed on-road study and found that drivers who reported frequent cellphone use drove faster, changed lanes more often and made more hard braking maneuvers than drivers who said they rarely used cellphones while driving.

Problem faceing consumers

  • There are too many distractions while driving for the drivers.

  • Traditional GPS systems suffer from accuracy issues.

  • Drivers often face heightened stress levels during their commute.

Research Goals
Begin by clearly defining the objectives of the research. Determine what aspects of AI-based cooking applications are needed and can be explored, such as item scanning, favorite section, AI-based video instruction, and cheap options near the user.

AI research quick breakdown:

T5, or Text-to-Text Transfer Transformer, is a Transformer based architecture that uses a text-to-text approach. Every task – including translation, question answering, and classification – is cast as feeding the model text as input and training it to generate some target text.

T5 has 11-billion parameters.

Text-to-Text

The user will input what ingredients they have and then the model will try to generate the cooking instructions for that ingredients.

UI Prototype

UI Research

The UI went through a few changes based on feedback given during, expansion on technology, and user habits. The findings concluded that users wanted a UI that allowed them to quickly access the AI features and that allowed them to see other people's recipes for inspiration. Some individuals expressed the desire to have a communication aspect but we chose to cut that feature due to possible misuse.
